Our Commitment to Child Safety
At OSHC Adventures, the safety, well-being and voice of every child is our highest priority. We champion a child-safe culture in everything we do—across our programs, our people, our policies and our partnerships with families and schools.
We comply with the Victorian Child Safe Standards (2022), the Reportable Conduct Scheme, and the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations. Our practices align with the ECEC Code of Ethics, My Time, Our Place (V2.0), and the National Model Code for Taking Images or Videos of Children.
Our Promise
We uphold a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse, harm, and neglect.
Our service champions a child-safe culture built on respect, trust, inclusion, and transparency.
Every staff member, educator, and volunteer understands their responsibility and duty of care to protect children from harm and uphold their rights at all times.
We listen to children, value their voices, and encourage them to express their views and feelings freely.
Our Child-Safe Practices
We comply with the Victorian Child Safe Standards, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, and all Education and Care Services National Regulations.
All staff, students, and volunteers must follow our Child Safe Code of Conduct, which clearly outlines acceptable behaviour, professional boundaries, and reporting responsibilities.
Our Child Safe Environment Policy details how we provide a safe and inclusive space—both physically and online—by identifying, managing, and responding to risks and hazards.
Staff are trained to recognise and respond to signs of abuse, neglect, or harm and to take immediate action when concerns arise.
We ensure all educators hold valid Working With Children Checks and complete regular child protection and safety training.
A Safe and Inclusive Environment
We are committed to ensuring that every child feels welcome, valued, and included.
We promote cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, support children with disabilities, and respect children from all culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Our team works in partnership with families and communities to ensure that all children can fully participate in our programs in ways that reflect their identities and strengths.
Listening to Children and Families
We actively involve children and families in decisions that affect them.
Children are taught about their rights, how to stay safe, and how to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
We encourage families to share their ideas, raise concerns, and take part in shaping a culture that keeps all children safe.
Reporting and Accountability
OSHC Adventures maintains transparent and accessible reporting procedures.
Any concerns or allegations are taken seriously and managed promptly, fairly, and confidentially.
Breaches of our Child Safe policies or Code of Conduct are addressed through clear procedures and may result in disciplinary action or notification to relevant authorities.

Continuous Improvement
We regularly review our child safety policies, procedures, and training to ensure they meet current legislation, best practice, and community expectations.
By working together—with our staff, children, families, and the wider community—we continue to strengthen our culture of safety, inclusion, and care.
At OSHC Adventures, every child has the right to feel safe, to be safe, and to thrive.
That’s our commitment — today and always.
